The day before Valentine’s Day, a local railroad employee spotted something unusual: a dog curled up alone in a cold elevator, abandoned by the daily commuters. What followed was a heartwarming rescue that would change the dog’s life forever.
A Lonely Elevator Ride

The creator of Logan’s Legacy 29, Suzette Hall, received a heartbreaking message from a railroad employee who had spotted a brown puppy stuck in the elevator used for station employees. The terrified puppy was left to ride up and down without any sympathy, and no one seemed to notice. The elevator’s doors opened and closed, but no one stepped forward to help the abandoned dog.
Hall shared the emotional message with her followers, writing, “I can’t imagine how many times the elevator went up to the second floor and back down again as he just sat there, scared and cold.”
A Rescuer’s Swift Response

Mary Nakiso, a volunteer with Logan’s Legacy 29, immediately sprang into action. She rushed to the scene, where she was met by an empathetic employee who helped her get inside the elevator. When the doors opened, the sight of the frightened pup curled up in the corner was even harder to bear.
Nakiso didn’t waste time. Carefully, she tucked the puppy into a warm blanket and carried him to her car amid the rain. The dog, named Clay, was clearly relieved and cuddled up on the blanket as soon as they were safely in the car.
A New Beginning
Clay’s rescue was just the beginning of his journey. He was taken for a medical checkup, which he passed with flying colors, and soon went home with his foster mom, Rebecca Taylor. There, Clay quickly adapted to his new surroundings, bonding with Taylor’s two daughters and her dog.
“He’s very sweet and getting on so well with my two daughters (6 and 8-years-old) and my dog too,” Taylor said. “He’s going to make someone so happy.”
Forever Home

As the days passed, Clay’s transformation was undeniable. His foster family knew that he had finally found his place. A few weeks later, Clay was officially adopted, bringing joy to everyone who had been part of his rescue story.
“He’s such a sweet baby,” Hall shared. “We love him so much.”
Suzette Hall, who runs Logan’s Legacy 29, shared this touching story with The Dodo, where Clay’s journey from an abandoned elevator pup to a beloved family member has touched the hearts of many.
